When a game near you needs a keeper, the message goes to everyone on the list at once. First to say yes gets it. If it does not suit, you do not need to reply — nobody chases you.

The outfield players cover the pitch between them. You turn up, you play, you pay nothing. On short notice or an awkward hour there is sometimes cash in it as well.

We keep one honest record: who said yes, and who actually came. That is what makes a keeper worth calling first — and it is the only thing we track.
